Current situation

Extreme Cold & Arctic Outflow Warnings have been issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for multiple areas of B.C. Severe cold weather can pose a risk to health & safety. Know the signs of cold-related illness and take steps to keep yourself warm.

Active Cold Warnings in B.C.

Northeast

  • Chilcotin

Northwest

  • Central Coast inland regions
  • North Coast inland including Kitimat and Terrace

Southwest

  • Whistler

Emergency warming centres and public warming spaces

Emergency Warming Centres and Public Warming Spaces may be opened by local authorities in your area.

Extreme Weather Response Shelters are operated by BC Housing and their partners for anyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness:
