An Evacuation Order and an Emergency Alert has been issued by the Peace River Regional District for the Community of Kelly Lake, in Electoral Area D, due to wildfire. Impacted residents should evacuate the area immediately.

EVACUATION ORDER issued by the Peace River Regional District, with support from EMBC. Immediately evacuate if you are in the evacuation area or directed to do so. The Bearhole Lake Wildfire is creating significant risk to life safety. Evacuate via Hwy 671 to Range Rd 131, North to Hwy 43 OR Hwy 52 East, North to BC Hwy 2. If you are trapped and unable to evacuate call 911 and report your location ASAP. For more information go to the PRRD website or social media. Evacuation area – The community of Kelly Lake, 5km North of Kelly Lake, 5km South of Kelly Lake, 4km West of the Alberta border.

- Stop what you are doing and follow the directions provided
- Follow all instructions from local officials
- Do not call 911 for additional information unless you are trapped and unable to evacuate.

- Reception Centre at the City of Dawson Creek City Hall, 10105 12A Street, Dawson Creek, BC
- Registration Centre at Beaverlodge Community Centre, 1014 4 Avenue, Beaverlodge, AB
*** note that anyone who evacuates to Alberta will need to pay for the expenses out of pocket and may or may not be reimbursed at a later date. Persons evacuating to Dawson Creek will be provided with lodging, food vouchers and incidentals. It is critical that all evacuees register at one of the centers.***
